FIND YOUR SEAT, ENRICH YOUR LIFE

help your world

Our View

We are primary Buddhist in our view and in our practice. We are spiritual. And, we openly invite other points of view and practices that converge with ours. We are individuals of varying ethnicities, races, gender identities, and religious/ nonreligious orientations. We seek to foster a “culture of awakening.”

What We Practice

  • Being Responsible – We are responsible for working individually with our own minds through practicing meditation, which brings both peace and insight regarding who we are.
  • Being Relatable – By bringing mindfulness to our interpersonal relationships, we do our part to bring some degree of understanding into the world that we most regularly inhabit.
  • Being Relevant – We bring mind and heart to give voice to the issues that people in our society and in our world face in this moment – our moment in time. We question what skillful engagement looks and feels like. And with that we stand.

What are Contemplative Arts?

Meditation and contemplation are actually creative acts. When we follow the meditation instruction to let go of thoughts of the past and thoughts of the future, we have the opportunity to experience ourselves and the world free from ideas including expectations about how things should be. We can then conduct our lives –  paint, compose, write, dance, cook, teach . . .  live from a creative space that is fresh. The world is new and all things are possible.

Our guiding principle is to remain curious and open, rather than contracted and attached. The practice of meditation allows us to be able to release our attachments to conceptual thought, and open to what is truly arising in the moment. That is the basis of creativity.

Exploring Mindfulness-Awareness

November 3rd, 17th & December 1st | 7- 8:30pm

Every being has awareness. It’s not even something we need to develop. It just is. What we do need is to cultivate getting in sync with our awareness. Meditation is the practice that helps us recognize and sync up with this aspect of ourselves that runs deep and wide.
